I think you are underestimating the PK ability that Goodrow brings as well as his fantastic 5v5 play. Tatar is going to be cheaper than Schwartz with similar offensive upside. Danault is worth 5-6m. Who wouldn’t want a shutdown center that can hamper any star line’s ability to score.? It’s worth it if you can let that Meier - ROR - Perron line tear up other teams 2-3rd lines.

Rangers have plenty of young talented wingers to deal with (Kakko, Lafrenierre, Buchnevich, Kravtsov) in addition to Panarin and Kreider. I don't think they are in the market for an injured 29 year old with a $7.5M cap hit. They missed their chance on Tarasenko when they drafted Dylan McIlrath (painful memories) in 2010.

I wouldn’t hate swapping Kravtsov for Tarasenko, but RW isn’t as much of a need as LD or C. And who knows what the salary cap hit would look like in 2022-23

Danault + Sundqvist would be a fantastic shutdown line, ROR is great at it as well but we can’t force our #1 center to go up against other teams top lines night in and night out and squander that first lines offensive impact. They were non existent in the playoffs, and the Mack line still scored.

Make that Bortuzzo instead of Clifford and the Pens probably make the trade.

They have better, cheaper, younger option than Clifford that don’t even see playing time except for injury. Angello(25), Zohorna(25), Lafferty(26), OConnor(22).
