Hamilton doesn't have that much value in a sign and trade, you'd get a 2nd or 3rd and definitely not Severson

Svech wants a bridge deal for something slightly cheaper than that for around the next two years.
Ned will likely want almost 4 mil.
NJ probably isn't interested in Hamilton and his signing rights won't get that much back in return.
Tarasenko is far better and more valuable than Nino especially with his retained salary.

That you only got Two minutes for jerking. That's at least a double minor.

Severson isn't available and the Devils aren't trading him for Dougie's rights

We’re very interested. Just not gonna give up Severson in a sign and trade

Defense scares me, since I don’t think that’s a sign and trade returns Severson realistically. Also wouldn’t use Suzuki as part of Gardiner cap dump, would rather use a second and a lower end prospect.

As far as the Svech thing goes, this may be slightly optimistic but it is more than he has been rumored to be offered.
Ned has a small sample size. I doubt he gets that much from us.
NJ is getting a sign and trade not just signing rights. If there are multiple offers, other teams may be looking to offload a useful contract to be able to fit Hamilton and upgrade their D. Refer to Faulk's trade where we received Edmundson (useful but over paid) and Bokk (late 1st.)
Tarasenko has been better than Nino, but we are taking all the risk with an injured player who is owed $9.5 mill this year in a flat cap. The $1 mill retention equals us paying his actual cap hit over the 2 years, and STL not having any risk while gaining $6.5 mill in cap space the second year. Nino isn't a huge down grade and gives them time to find VT's replacement.
