Why would you trade plecky first of all arizona would not take this trade their asking price is much higher then this second if you loose plecky you cant replace the defensive forward in him with hanzel the goal is to make the team better before the playoff not trade players that have a impact on the team remember hockey is not all about points

I do know hockey isn't just about points. But the first objective will always be to score more goals than the other team. The Habs can already rely on 6 solid d-man and one of the best goalie in the world. Fact is: Habs is already plenty aware in defens, from the actual players to Therrien overall strategy. Plekanec doesn't produce. Plekanec has always been invisible in playoffs. With Galchenyuk position at center, Danault proving he could be one of the missing piece in line-up, I don't feel Plekanec, at 6M$ is still the right option on 2nd line. Overmore, Galchenyuk and Beaulieu will win far more than what they earn right now. Where do you take the money? + MB has always been known for shopping hard on summer. You need cap space for that.

Please keep in mind that Flynn, Mitchell, Byron, Pacioretty, Danault, Shaw, Lekhonen can all kill penalties. Not bad when this might only represent 5%-10% of an actual game.

Asking price was McCarron + 1st pick. I am not sure anyone will pay that much. Knowing that Hanzal will not be part of the Coyotes at the start of new season, they could at least get Plekanec, signed for few years and Andrighetto which can play on regular basis.
