Would Philly agree if I add Ghost to that deal to give them more cap space?

Oilers don’t need to move kosk or Neal bad enough to include broberg he’s a big part of oilers future with the uncertainty surrounding klef.

The proposed trade with the Oilers at least offers something of value to them. The cap relief of trading those two contracts is not insignificant, especially in a flat cap world. Would the Oilers give up Broberg? I don't know. I believe there are other d men ahead of him on the depth chart right now. Whether the trade would be accepted is not certain. But at least there is value there for both sides in the proposal. Good job.

Philly doesn;t need to clear cap space....

I wont get in the whole waivers thing, but if you think Ghost has no value, then theres no point.

Philly made game 6 of the 2nd round last year, their key youngsters all regressed ths year and they gave up the most goals in the NHL AND YET, still finished with a winning record....theyre one of the youngest teams and will be back to contending if they can address the youth regression of this season and add a top RD (which they have cap space for)

If you think Oilers dont need to move Koskinen and Neal then feel free to enjoy another sweep in the first round.Oilers have around 4 year window to win, before Draisaitl's contract is up.I believe they should consider trading either Broberg or Bouchard, because those guys are too young and will take a couple years to hit their potential.Oilers have too many issues in the lineup, with this type of trade they free up tons of cap space and can sign guys like Hamilton or Jones, maybe Martinez for the left side, bring in a good goaltender, and also add forward depth, meanwhile receiving Maatta for defensive depth,Clague who is nearly NHL ready and has the offensive upside to replace Broberg, and Grundstrom who is a solid depth piece.

Yes,that's fair,Philly probably denies that anyway.

Well kosk wasn’t nearly as bad as people make him out to be all year had like 1 or 2 bad games if sign smith to a cheap deal as expected then the tandem still costs bellow league average. Neal could be a buyout candidate in my preference offer Seattle bear to absorb Neals contract other options in play that don’t cost us broberg they should be explored.

It's definitely an interesting proposal, I don't hate it but am just uncertain about it. Doesn't help with the lack of inter-division play I really didn't see these LA guys play last year. In theory your comment makes sense about clearing cap space to bring in a Hamilton/Jones/Martinez... In reality, those players laugh when Edmonton calls their agent because they'd rather live in a major metropolitan city or have a nice climate. We will have to overpay to bring in a B-level UFA (Oleksiak type) or use assets like Broberg to trade for someone without a NMC that has term. Barrie coming here was a one-off that worked out well but with what he's likely to get paid next, Edmonton would be wise to walk.
