Description

A lot of habs fans trying to put up a deal for Duchene that doesn't include Sergachev, but let's be realistic, if Joe Sakic is getting calls from Bergevin, he's gonna be asking for Sergachev! But let's just say that MTL is ok with letting go of Sergachev, my guess is that they would play hard ball and offer up something like this. Would COL consider this deal WITHOUT ANY DRAFT PICKS???

the DAL trade is more of a retool for the Stars who have a lot of UFAs this off season and Eaves is probably going to want a big raise (he has 18 goals this season so far), he would be a good rental!

Why would Dallas even consider that trade? A worse player coming to the Stars and a 6m cap hit next year. Look like a trade just to fit in Duchene's cap hit.

You are correct sir! I didn't put that much effort with the pleky deal. But Plekanec still has some value where teams would be interested. the return for him wouldn't be great though.

The only return for Plekanac would be another 6m in salary coming back to the Habs next year. Plekanac Sergachov, Hudon would be a better fit for original proposal.. Dallas needs Eaves to make the playoffs this year.

I get what your saying with regards to DAL, but why would COL want Plekanec. like you said he's a $6mil cap hit next year. instead of filling a roster spot next year for an older veteran just keep the cap space and use that to your advantage. Pleky still has value to some teams though, just not COL.

Perhaps Colorado could retain salary on Plekanac in order for him to be of more value to someone else...Plekanac at 6 mill is brutal....Plekanac at 3 mill not too bad at all. He could become a very tradable asset for Colorado.

You're correct when you say that any Duchene trade with the Habs would involve Sergachev, unless Bergevin gives up Juulsen and Scherbak, which he most likely won't. Plekanec would have to go back to Colorado, and then the Habs would have to add a first round pick because the Avs take his contract. But with Markov most likely leaving, Sergachev becomes too valuable for them to lose. I doubt a deal will ever come close to being done between the two.
