At least in the SJS series there was a sense of “that’s just getting a young core some playoff taste” but now that they’re getting into their prime each loss hurts more and more

Eventually the Capitals broke the curse by winning the cup, I see something similar happening in Colorado within the next two years.

Yes that is true. Especially if Sakic gets desperate and messes up the entire operation.

It might be me, but your defense could use more size and physicality. They seem to get worn out and out muscled which is big come playoff time. Tons of skill back there, but adding some size and toughness couldn’t hurt. Plus not having your second line center suspended the entire series would certainly help.

Vegas, Tampa, Montreal and Isles all have defense that wear you down. Can’t be a coincidence that they’ve got guys with size and play with an edge. Finesse doesn’t translate as well from regular season to playoffs. At least in my opinion.
