I could see Dallas having interest in a deal like this, what I don't see is them retaining $4.7M in salary, even at its prorated amount. As much as it pains me to say though, good chance both will be available in about a month.

I like the trade, but I think it would be better for the Hawks to take Oleksiak before they take back Johnny "Turnover" Odouya. Other than that, looks good.

I like it a lot. I also don't think Dallas retains any salary in the deal unless it's lopsided with draft picks. I've been trying to figure out a way for the Hawks to make this work under the cap and I don't think they can unless they move someone with higher cap hit too. The most obvious choice for a trade with Dallas would be Crawford. I highly doubt the Blackhawks take the gamble to move Crawford and rely on Darling for a Cup run though.
