According to Portzline (CBJ writer for the athletic) Jarmo wants a 1st and an offensive center prospect for Savard. I’d guess he wants a 2nd round pick at the minimum for Folingo.

The trouble with the Leafs trading for these players....is the Leafs might have trade a good player back for cap reasons. So really the Leafs might be out of the running for these two players, maybe they can take one. Then if you take trade players off the Leafs current roster, the new players might be 5 NHL games before they are ready for the NHL after quarantine.
Really makes no sense putting Hyman learning the centre position and assuming Robertson is NHL good.

Realistically, Savard is most likely gonna be the best dman traded and Foligno might be the second or third best forward. The rental market looks pretty dead.

Think something like 2021 2nd 2022 4th, Abruzzese (who imo is their best prospect outside the untouchable 4) and Kral for both those retained plus a 2021 6th maybe.


People are gonna say thats too much but you're asking a poor franchise to trade away their captain and their longest tenured, leader type dman with HALF retained for both. Not to mention if you don't take Savard who do you settle with? Nemeth or Montour? If you don't take Foligno and you miss Hall who are you settling for? Ryan or Dzingel?

I don't think nick is worth trading for, he's 33 and he's slowed.

Iafallo, Janmark, Wood, Dickinson, Merrill, Oleksiak, all good options

Columbus can ask that all they want, and teams always initially ask higher than they know they'll get, but no team is biting on either of those prices. Rentals just don't go for much anymore. At last seasons deadline, 6 trades involved guys being traded for 1st round picks and I believe all of those guys had term on their contracts and weren't just rentals. I'd be shocked to see teams trade a high pick or high rated prospect this year when it's extreme buyers market and picks and prospects are worth even more now.

Iafallo is staying, Janmark is likely staying and is probably on par with Foligno, Dickinson isn't leaving most likely, and Savard is still better than Merrill and Oleksiak IMO


Maybe I'm crazy, but as crappy as Savard and foligno have been they're still probably gonna be like the 4th and 5th best rentals
