I wouldnt be against this. I'm a bit worried about the term being an issue with Kerfoot and the Canucks. They have a few big deals to sign this offseason and may be counting on that space.

Kerfoot meets the expansion draft criteria and can play center. Pearson is probably better than him. However why can’t we have both, trade assets for Pearson half retained.

I don't mind the trade, but I wouldn't even consider touching the roster right now knowing how things are going

VAN probably declines, they need as much space as possible to sign Pettersson, Hughes, Demko and bunch of other RFA's. Also VAN doesn't need scoring they need defensive help lol.

Yea. Can drop down to 3 line C or stay 2nd line LW. Been playing really well.

A real easy no from the Leafs. Leafs have lots of wingers, but need all their centres. Why even consider trading Kerfoot for a meh UFA winger?
Leafs have plenty of" Hymans" this season. Hyman, Thornton, Mikheyev and Simmons on the wings...Tavares and Matthews at centre

Pearson would be better than Kerfoot, and yes they are playing well now, and Kerfoot I don;t mind at all. But it's a long ways to playoffs still and they can not get complacent. So if there is an oppurtunity to make the team better, that is what they are going to try and do.
I personally love Engvall as the third line Centre. The speed and backpressure form that line is unmatched and can play against any line inth eleague as a shut down.

Yea Engvall has played well, but geez if there is injury to Matthews or Tavares, the Leafs don't have enough good centres to fill the role. Kerfoot is much more valuable to the Leafs than Pearson.

agree on the centre depth, Do you think Spezza could step up there for that time?
I truly would rather them get Granlund who can play both wing or center over pearson.

Your right, but we need another Hyman player. I wouldn't trade for Granlund, place Kerfoot on the top 6 and you have a Granlund

Spezza seems to be more suited at right wing now, Boyd seems to be the fifth centre. Really I don't see the purpose of Granlund either. Gotta think other teams might need him more than the Leafs.
And who does Granlund replace that really makes the Leafs better? Leafs would have to send player(s) bad to Nashville to make the cap work. Then there is the quarantine period.
Gee, the Leafs have lots of Hymans.....Hyman, Thornton, Mikheyvov and Simmons on the wings...plus Matthews and Tavares at centre.

Spezza Plays centre on that line. They have him at wing on paper but takes every draw and is always in that position.
Anyways thats being said, I agree wit you after reading this more now, Granlund and Kerfoot are close, and it's not worth giving up assets plus for him.
If it could work, what do you think about Foglino from Columbus?
Thornton and Simmonds though are not like a Hyman. Hyman has made everyline he's played on better.

But you can't trade for "Hymans" without giving up a lot. Yea I like Foligno. But even at 50% retention his cap 2.75m. Who do the Leafs move to make that cap? In so many trades, folk trade for the "addition", but don't consider the "subtraction" I would open to any suggestions to Foligno but off the top of my head, can't think how it's done constructively.

Liljegren and Kerfoot for him with retaining 2 mil.
He is UFA after this year. ( so CLB has a chance of resigning him next year )
Yes we give up a good prospect and a versatile player BUT thsi could be a year your taking a very good run at it.
and there is on ly a window of that.
I do not mind giving up lily as wthe Leafs have - Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Robertson, Sandin, Amirov, Michekev, Engvall and Brooks all under 25 years old.
I may be off on this trade or value but it's a thought

Sorry that's really poor trade. Giving up Kerfoot for Foligno shouldn't be done. Leafs need centres. And to give up Liljegren too. Certainly the Leafs will need Liljegren next year if not sooner, with two UFA Dmen and one likely to picked by Seattle.

Folingo can play centre if needed and Kerfoot is NOT playing centre right now, and Foligno is better.
Engvall as a 3rd line centre option is doing just as well as Kerfoot was there.
We won;t need Lily again next year.
Where does he fit?
Sandin will play before him and they will sign another Bogo.
Dermott may be picked up in expansion.

Can't believe you believe what you wrote. Sure Engvall is 3C option but he hasn't proved it. And you certainly don't want Engvall playing 2C in case of injury to either Tavares or Matthews.
Foligno doesn't play centre...so please don't use that false logic.
You can't figure where Liljegren plays next season? Well Bogosian and Lehtonen are UFAs and one of Dermot or Holl are likely in Seattle. So the Leafs can easily three of top 7. Sandin and Liljgren are good cheap alternatives to play on the Leafs. And really the Leafs have lots of wingers now.

And who has he played with CLB has had nobody and the still beat the Leafs last year
You are the type that give leaf fans a bad name. They are the best no players can replace the leafs players because the leafs have all the best.

Don't be silly. I know the value of position of Leaf....admitting that is subjective. But if you want to make trades for trades sake...you're welcome to it.
But to falsify your point of view to try to win a discussion....save that for young children who might be impressed.
