I think we all agree that Kakko > Turcotte > Kravstov. Both the Kings and Rangers want to move to the left on that list, for obvious reasons. However, it's in neither's best interest to move to the right, so it's unlikely that a trade will happen.

expected goals for compared to actual goals for are two different things

also kakko is better defensively than hughes

What exactly are you trying to argue here? I don't even like Hughes, but he's been better than Kakko by miles so far this year. There's no comparison or justification. Kakko and Hughes looked like busts this year, now Hughes has proven he isn't. Kakko hasn't proved that he isn't a bust yet. I don't care how he looks defensively, he has 3 points in 14 games while being a minus. I don't care how many "expected goals" he's supposed have someday, he hasn't proved he can score a lot of goals in the NHL yet.

what im arguing is that youre trying to prove that huges is not a bust based on 14 games. Kakko on the other hand has just been snake bitten basically like the entire rangers team this year. Why expected goals matter is that it shows you if the player is generating high quality chances or not.

If he's such a good goal scorer he should be generating goals and point totals not "chances". Hughes is doing all of that right now, if you still consider him a bust then you're probably alone in that thought. He probed me wrong. Kakko hasn't.
