For Toronto to trade Matthews and stay competitive, you'd have to throw in a heathy, heavily retained Jonathan Toews. They'd still get worse this year, and I think they'd prefer to win right away rather than add a bunch of future pieces, but three prospects, a 1st, and Toews could get their attention if they think Toews might get healthy and lead them on a run before he retires.
