Funny, I was just thinking Monahan for PLD would be a swap that makes a lot of sense for both teams. Flames are giving up too much here though.

I think the value is accurate here. I'd take PLD over the CGY package any day

This is exactly, I honestly think monahan is a good 2C but not made to be a 1C. PLD has potential to be a really good 1st line center.

Yes it for sure does. Flames get exactly the type of player they need and if PLD does want out, this is as close to a lateral move as they are going to get

No, the difference between PLD and Monahan isn’t a top 15 pick. Wouldn’t want to miss out on a Fabian Lysell or Cole Sillinger just to get better at 1C

Its close to even if they were making the same $ and if there are no other teams interested. This isn't a tyler johnson situation when you pay another team to take the guy. 2 years of PLD at 5m will be in high demand. no discounts will be had

Hahaha ya he isn't worth Mcdavid... He is better than Monahan and cheaper contract by a decent amount plus he is younger. To be clear Monny, 1st and 3rd wouldn't be close to Mcdavid. I hope you didn't think I was saying he was that valuable
