I'm not really a fan of Hamilton and has 5.75m cap hit, but still it might be a fair deal. Come expansion draft are the Rangers forced to protect 4 Dman?

Yeah, this exposes Miller and Nash. Assuming they'd protect Stepan, Zuccarello, Zibanejad and Kreider.

Yeah, this exposes Miller and Nash. Assuming they'd protect Stepan, Zuccarello, Zibanejad and Kreider.

If the Rangers can snag Hamilton, or Vatanen, or another top 4 defender under contract, I'd expect them to buyout Girardi or convince him to waive his NMC.
