One of the best offensive D of his generation as a cap jettison or... what on earth... it wouldn't be that hard to get rid of Smith in similar fashion to achieve that

Funny thing is.. as much as this trade is ridiculously bad, it is exactly like all those Nylander trades to NYR.

You would need to dump Smith just to make cap room so this was possible. The bonuses/bonus penalty isn’t included in the cap hit

The trade was literally for fun. They wouldn't have to trade DeAngelo I just wanted him on the Leafs and Sammy I did this cause I hated the Nylander to Ranger trades so I did this. 😂😂

I honestly can’t say I have seen any Nylander to NYR trades. He’s not a good fit for us so it’s odd that people would propose it.. but love the idea of Barzal if we had cap space for him

There is plenty of cap for him. I was actually more surprised NYR didn't go harder at Krug. I thought he'd fit well there.

I do. I hate to tell you but if the Rangers can take a shot at Barzal you take it. I don't care who you trade away. Weither it's Buch or Smith.

Ok, you just didn’t add those moves here so I really couldn’t tell. Many see the 80m cap hit and think they are under cap.

I did thi k Capfriendly fixed that buy that's why I didn't move them and spend that cap on D they really need.
