Hate to say it, no way Rangers will be able to move Staal so easily with 5 more years at 5.7m unfortunately. Rangers may have to eat some. If it was 3 years left, I think it'd be more doable. Also don't know if Staal would be very willing to waive.

i think staal would waive to carolina. his brother is still there. they treated his family very well. we could probably afford to pay up till 2 mil aav.

moving staal in prep for the draft is, in my opinion, very important. we will likely buyout G at seasons end. thats also why stoner is a good get to. it opens about 4 mil of salary for ana to sign hampus. but stoner would we could leave open for the vegas draft. might even get selected to help them reach the cap floor.
