Tampa should consider that. Gives them a very cheap 3rd pair D, which they need, and 10OA. I think the value is more like the pick straight up, a la Schneider for 9OA, but yeah

As a Jets fan, if that is what it would take to get Cirelli...I'm in.

For that price Cirelli stays in Tampa, Honestly a good deal but doubt he's dealt.

Why has WPJ soured on Laine?

No definitive answer, but he wants a bigger role, we may not want to pay him 8 figures next year, and he has enough value to plug the serious holes in our roster, whereas we currently have probably the best top 6 winger corps in the whole league

The Tampa trade would probably work for the Jets, unless the Jets really have their mind on someone at 10, as would the Chicago one. The Carolina trade is an overpay by Winnipeg. Why would the Jets need Necas if they have Cirelli?

Think youd need to give up a more valuable prospect for cirelli but the value is good overall. Nice job.

Why has WPJ soured on Laine?

The haven't and he hasn’t. All he has said is he wants to play with schiefele on the top line. He’s not wrong, he is now our best rw so he should be on the top line. However, before he signs his next contract he wants to be guaranteed that spot and the jets can’t do that as the choice is up to Maurice not management really. By all accounts the problem isn’t money (at least yet). In fact, some believe they haven’t even talked about money yet. Imo, he isn’t going anywhere. Much like Roslovic wanted a bigger role last year and got it, laine will too. Anyways, both of them have earned it.

Why is everyone on here so high on Cirelli as a 2C and so down on Strome comparatively?

Career Stats:
Cirelli = 168 games played = .57ppg
Strome = 164 games played = .64ppg (116 games as a hawk = .77ppg)

I know Cirelli is better defensively but Strome is hands down better offensively. I get that Cirelli is more fun to watch because the type of game he plays and the agitator role, but these two players are very similar in value. That said, neither player in my mind is worth $4.5M on a 2 year deal, more around $3.5M to $4M.

He's played too many video games. He now thinks "Stick-handling" means cranking 90s on controller

Or, you don't know his actual value? You think an NHL team are wrong? Noooo... course not. You know better than all of them right? Not like Carolina have a good GM and the best analytical mind in hockey in their management team. They're all dumb and only you know better!
