If Holland's actually kicking tires on Ristolainen, this is as damn close to a best case scenario we could ask for

avs pass on the Mojo for Cole trade

They need Cole, who fills a filler need as their D transitions and is a big cog in their PK. Wihtout Cole on the PK their D who are effective PKers are much weaker.
Not a good move for the Avs has it probably weakens an already weaker part of their roster, effective PKers

I have over 20 million in cap space and that's before the expansion draft. The VAN-RIEMSDYK trade added 1 million to the cap, the neal trade added 150K, the Cole trade added nothing and the no trade added probably under a million.

So nice job

Yep! 20 Million to resign your whole defense except for Miller. So an 11m Offersheet means 9 million for 5 Guys. Which also means we probably lose Jokiharu. Which means your the guy who again looks stupid, don't snap back saying nice job to someone, when they can easily back themselves up.

So we Have Dahlin for 11
Joker 5
Say we get an ELC or 2 - 2m
Now you have 2m for 2 guys. Not to mention the UPL contract we will call up and having to add an ELC forward like Pekar, Routsalainen.

If dahlin is the 3rd player to be offersheeted in 9 years then we match it, bridge jokiharju and then lose someone in the expansion draft and promote our 2020 1st round pick, easily doable

Bridge Joker is 5m. Maybe 3. But where still stretching it.

I like Henri, but hes not getting Werenski/McAvoy money. 3 is likely. Promote bryson, keep borgen cheap, promote Holtz or whoever we draft and lose a guy in expansion and it's pretty doable

I'm not sure there's much point in pursuing another defenseman, especially since the cap savings is virtually nil and he'd be 3rd pairing in Edmonton. I suppose if Holland had deals in place for Larsson and Russell it could make some sense... I get that Ristolainen has 1 year less term, but Edmonton needs goals more than it does defensemen who struggle to actually defend.
