I don't see how carolina or the predators would accept these. Carolina is giving up a 24 yr old defenseman and has recently played well for dominik simon and hornqvist, who is on 5.3M cap hit

Easy pass from Edmonton. Why give up assets to bring in a goalie coming off a questionable year that’s going to command a higher salary than he’s recently earned. Better off looking at ufas

What is your reasoning for Riikola being worth a 2nd?

I'm not really sure murray is going to command a particularly high salary. He's RFA and not playing well, I dont think those cup runs actually give him as much bargaining power as people think. ESPECIALLY for a different team.

I think the Oilers could use Murray, but they have Koskinen signed for 2 more years. Im not sure if a cap strapped team like them want to commit 9-12M$ for their netminding.
Moving Hornqvist would be really big and I think it would be time, but the Canes also do not have the most cap space and he would have to waive to go there. Going to be a tough time moving him.
Riikola is probably worth a 5th and not a 2nd.

Even if he would sign for reasonable amount is he worth giving up assets for considering ufa market will have more options than teams buying? I’d go ufa route all day long.

really depends on the teams financial situation which matters for more now than before.

and honestly imo the UFA goalie market is really just Lehner. Crow was crap this year and is old af. Khudobin is 34. Holtby is straight junk imo. Griess wont look as good on teams that dont play like the Isles. Marksrom had a decent year but im not sold on him.

there are a ton of available goalies, but idk if there are really many good ones outside of Lehner. And most of these UFA goalies only solve a teams goalie problem for a year or two and then they are right back in the hunt for another one

its mostly a bunch of overpaid has beens.

I'll bet once Lehner signs with a team, GMS will be calling pittsburgh all day long
