A second rounder please. Tarasenko is not a star, just an average first line winger

When healthy, he is a star. The only question mark is whether or not he can return to his previous form.

I find it unlikely that he will. He missed most of this season, and he doesn’t have the greatest numbers around the league to begin with. I’m okay with Domi and a second.

I bet there’s the possibility of modifying that trade abd adding Jake Allen to the deal. MTL would have the cap space IF they can unload Alzner in a deal similar to the Armia trade, OR with the Blues retaining some of Allen’s salary.

...but...all the Blues have to do is put him on LTIR, which gives them the opportunity to sign Pietrangelo, and then they can deal with the cap issues down the line...They proved through the regular season that they were just fine without him-why the sudden need to move him for Max Domi (Who will actually affect their cap immediately)?

He's been a consistent 30+ goal scorer, 70+ point guy, who's $7.5 mil cap hit is quite reasonable. Maybe not the greatest numbers in the league, but once healthy, he would immediately be the best player on your team. Domi+2nd is a joke.

Then we’ll get a cheaper guy who isn’t made of glass instead. There are lots of 70+ point guys

In this situation the Blues would also trade additional players to dump cap, withAllen being ideal for Montreal.

Ok, so you're including Allen, so once Tarasenko is healthy (5 month timeline), you're a capped out team with a 20 man roster?

I don't ever see him being the same player again - 3 shoulder surgeries in under two years I believe. Just brutal. So unfortunate.

Same, he just didn't look like himself during the playoffs.

I don't think STL make that deal as Domi would request +/- same money between 6-7M a year...
Add Allen to make sure they can resign Pietro... but I doubt
