The name screams high school to me, you get your North American College dumb names to like the Blue Hose, Purple Pounders, School of Deaf Leopards, Midgets, etc. but Kraken this is the NHL, not peewee hockey.

I really hate the name, but I think they did a pretty good job with it. The logo is simple, and the Jerseys are good. I still think the Sockeyes would have been better.

I can't wait to go see a game in the Krak Den

Just checked the logo and wow that’s simple and sharp I’m completely sold love the name love the logo. It’s going to be tough to cheer against them. Great job Seattle!!!

I think there logo more of a secondary logo and they should make it that, it was be a cool logo if it was a kraken wrapped around space needle and the tentacles form a S

I'm happier with it than I was with the "Golden Knights" when it came out. Love how simple the logo is. There's huge potential to have some amazing 3rd jerseys and alternate logos.

That would be really cool. They have soo much potential with what they can do with it. I’d like them to advertise a contest for fans to summit draws and then vote on which will be third jersey. Would be amazing way to get fan base more involved and fun to see results I bet their will would be a lot of very creative amazing designs. The name provides a lot to work with in a design.

So sick. Love everything about it. Cultural significance: First mention of the mythical kraken was in a Seattle newspaper in 1800s. So cool. As intimidating and fun as a team name could be. Anyone who doesn't like it hates fun.
On twitter they broke down the little details of the logo too, check it out if you haven't, the branding is starting out unbelievably well.
