You mean trade your two picks with New Jersey or Minnesota?

Lol. New Jersey isn't trading out of the top 10

Depends on how early each pick is.
top 7 pick is better than two later ones, but rangers will probably have 13 and 19-23 or so. Id say stick with the 2 we have because most 1st rounders end up as NHL players, so the rangers have more of a chance to hit on a good NHL player, potentially 2. If the Rangers have only one pick 8-11, they don't have my trust until Kravtsov becomes a stud. Again, one pick in the top 7 is probably better than 2 later ones, but Ill take 13 and 20 over one pick between 8 and 11

Well, that's what I was asking him, not suggesting.

Put faces on them. Look at the two guys most likely to go around #9: Anton Lundell and the goalie Askarov (I've been paying so little attention to him I haven't memorized his name yet). Now ask yourself if there are two guys you think you can get at 13 and 20 whom you'd prefer.

Well I have Laf Byfield Raymond Stutzle Rossi Lundell Drysdale Perfetti Amirov Gunler Askarov and Holtz as potentially elite players, then Marat Andrae Holloway and Mysak as potential high end guys (like really good second liners or whatever) say if the two picks are back to back and two of those guys in the second list would be available, I'd probably rather have the two picks, otherwise, keep the top 11 pick

Yes. Realistically, it all comes down to simply drafting well.
In past drafts: Sam Morin taken 11th, at least 10 picks before Anthony Mantha and Shea Theodore
Jake Virtanen at 6th, taken at least ten picks before Travis Sanheim and David Pastrnak
Slater Koekoek taken at 10, least 6 picks before Tuevo Teravainen and Tomas Hertl.

You have to hit on players. Once it hits 6-7, in general, nothing is guaranteed, so better to have 2 picks in the middle. You might draft Slater Koekoek at 10, but at least you might snag a Shea Theodore or an Anthony Mantha in the 20's or vice versa. The pick number is irrelevant. Just have to do a good job at drafting wherever you are.

if by most you mean slightly over 50% fine.
But truth is a lot of that is top heavy. You take out the top 10 and you are probably looking at a 40% rate.
That's not great. As most top 5 picks are almost locks. Very high percentage there. But say 25-31...... no so much.

It really depends where the picks are located. I mean if you are talking 1-3....yeah clearly.
If you are talking 11 and the others is 15 & 20... I take the two later.
