That's a no from DAL. Their RHD depth is too weak.

Actually defense is a problem. On paper, aside from Heiskanen, that D is actually pretty weak.

Our gamephilosophy is just overdefensive, and add that to the fact our goalies are one of the best of the league, you get a team that looks OK but has some issues in it's roots.

Two mid-6 guys aren't changing that.

Value is fair on the Dallas trade but like boss said it leaves us too thin on the right side. And we take on salary which makes it harder to add a defenseman in free agency

Scoring is more of a system/personnel problem. Anybody that thinks defense isn’t a problem after this trade hasn’t taken a good enough look at the team

Leafs aren't trading Dermott for a 3rd nevermind to Florida. I'd rather have Dermott over Johns anyways, this year and in the future

I have to agree with some of above on Dallas deal. Value of the trade is good, but would force another acquisition on D. Having said that, this could create the options to support doing so, I'd have to think Dallas strongly considers given the number of assets coming back.
