Want to make it a bigger deal and go: Staal and Zucker for Bode Wilde and your 2020 1st?

I'm sure the Wild would gladly accept that?

Yes, but would the Wild also take Thomas Hickey for cap reasons?

Is Staal underperforming? Seems like their leading scorer the past few years, has a cup, scores goals, can play 3c. Just curious.

Id take Zucker and Staal for a 1st and Bode Wilde in a heart beat. No way MN goes for that.

Throw in a 3rd and I would do it.

The Wild need to make some changes and get younger, period. This trade would be a nice start in that capacity.

Staal looks tired right now, but he is also streaky and could easily score 8 goals in the next 10 games.

Wilde, Hickey, 1st, and 3rd for Staal and Zucker? Yeah, I'd do that pretty easily. I think it depends on other moves that can be made in the off-season and if the team wants to send Bellows back down.

Not really. We're taking on a ton of salary.

That would create a cap problem. Barzal, Pulock and Toews will collectively require a lot of cap this offseason. Not to say we shouldn't make moves, just prepare to lose assets contract dumping any of Komarov, Boychuk, etc.

I will say if we're going to risk going over the cap and losing one of key young core pieces, we should least do it for a player with term, like Staal and Zucker. So I'm in favor of this in principle.
