Probably pretty close. I can see Ehn in there for Svech

Doubt Svech makes the team, Probably either one of Ras or Ehn. Ras has been making a statement here lately.

I could see Ras or Ehn getting the spot over Svech as well, but I think they need to give Svech a solid look against some NHL caliber competition. They don't know really where he fits because of the injury last year and sticking him in the AHL, would only delay figuring out where he's at on the depth charts. The Wings know what they have in Ehn and Ras for the most part and they will be part of this team for years to come, pending they don't end up in a trade. All in all, if we are looking at just the preseason performance I'd plug in Ras, but I think they want him playing Center in the near future and want to give him time in the AHL to develop that part of his game further. Doesn't help we have a log jam of vets down the middle excluding Larks.

I think the last spot is down to either Zadina or Ehn. Here is why:

Ras - He needs to be playing C. He's a C. He's been playing C all preseason. He shouldn't be the 4th line C, he should be the 3rd line C. But, it would be very hard to put Ras and Erne on the same line. Erne should also be playing on the 3rd line. I think he goes to GR to play C on the top line.

Svech - Has shown well, but the rust is still there. Can go to GR without waivers, and I think he's your top line LW. He can play in the NHL, but he's coming off a major injury, let him find the rest of his game in GR. Come back later this year.

Ehn - He needs to find his offense (which I believe is there). While he has played C, I think he's a LW.

Zadina - The goal-scoring isn't there (he was robbed by Binnington last night), but the rest of the game is there (which wasn't last year). He's playing 200ft, he's engaged defensively, he can trigger man the 2nd PP unit, he's been working the corners. The goals will come. If he goes to GR, he plays RW on the top line (you could see a Svech-Ras-Zadina top line in GR).

Cholo - I think he's made the team, at Daley's expense. I think Bowey has made the team. That's your 3rd pairing D group. It wouldn't shock me to see Daley traded to a team that lost a dman during the preseason. Cholo can trigger the 2nd PP unit (Cholo and Hronek/Green on the 2nd unit), which DD and Nemeth can't do (as the 2 other lefties). It's going to be an adventure sometimes with Bowey and Cholo, but you can play them sheltered minutes as the 3rd pair.
