You guys love making up villians, I mean that's all this can be, right? This as asinine as Laker fan's believing Woj is actively trying to undermine their team by his reporting. In reality there's no "Dreger is a secret agent from Marner's camp" or "Paul Marner is the mastermind who's holding poor Mitch's career hostage". At the end of the day, Mitch Marner, a fully grown adult who has the most responsibility in these negotiations, and his agent are trying to negotiate a contract with Dubas and the Leafs, in which they want to get the better end of the deal. I promise you neither Dreger or Paul are "shifting the tides" in these negotiations

Imagine if Timo Meier was still an RFA and an "insider" constantly mentioned how he was worth 9 million and an offer sheet was coming. Pretty annoying right?

I understand the frustration with not knowing if you're top winger is gonna play for your team this year. But I've seen enough drama with Thornton cussing out Doug Wilson a couple year's back, only for him to still sign a contract with the team, to know that the media (and the fans by extension) always take their own spin on things in order to make things more "controversial", when in reality I can almost guarantee these negotiations are super mundane, and behind the scenes everything is working a lot more smoothly.
