Would start with Andersson. I'm no Sens fan but they have a loaded left side and a weak right side. Rasmus is a MUST on this trade. Expect Bennett to be in there too.

The price would be the league losing Ottawa as an NHL market. There would be no coming back from the Sens losing Brady or Chabot, regardless of the return.

Unless they can draw back a roster player.
Tkachuck and Pageau for Backlund, Andersson, Dube and a few picks. Then they have a top line C and a D prospect

It doesn't matter what they get in return for him, because they will be gone the second they ask for more than 2.5×2.

Also Backlund is 30 and has cleared 50 points once. Not exactly what I'd call a top line center.

He would be the best center Ottawa has had since Duchene.

Agreed, but how does that help them? They need to be willing to commit to being a contending team at some point, otherwise you might as well close up shop entirely. They need to commit to not only building a winning team, but commit financially to keeping it together. And you do that with guys like Tkachuk, not with an aging Mikael Backlund.

Can't keep punting that commitment down the road every few years.

Rasmus Andersson isn't a nobody though. This trade will obviously never happen, however Ottawa at some point will need to transition, and giving up some prospects might be the way to do it. Brady is untouchable though.

The Sens risked giving up the 1st overall pick to draft Tkachuk. He’s the face of their rebuild and they absolutely wouldn’t move him, unless a massive overpay of 1 stud player came back. Trading a bunch of picks and players of lesser value wouldn’t get it done.
