Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Marner @ 9.75 x 3. Gives Marner a shot @ winning & another shot @ big money, but gives leafs some assurance to keep him long term (still RFA in 3 years).

Moves to allow the two Russians to be on the NHL roster + Cap / long term depth moves.

Traded away / for a bunch of Reserve List Players. If you don’t know who they are, where they play, or way a team would take them ... look it up, form your own opinion.

Just killing some time on a Sunday morning. I don’t really care what you have to say.

You are entitled to that opinion. Good luck getting a 90 + point player for under 8 million.

12 of 14 players that scored 90+ points last year made less than 9M, 9 of 14 less than 8M. What Marner did isn't that special.

So you think Marner is only worth 6.75 million, but on a thread earlier today you figured he would be the only big asset needed to get McDavid (and yes I realize Lucic was the other player in that trade, but small price to pay to get McDavid, you also had Ceci going the other way). So which is it, either he is a 7-8 million player, or he alone would be able to pry McDavid away from Edmonton?

On that I was joking suggesting stupid return for McDavid if he asked for trade. Next time recognize sarcasm. On 3yr deal, Marner is worth 6.75-7.25 mil. On 6yr deal 9-9.5..

No one has ever signed a 3 year deal off an ELC for over 7. That's astronomical.

He is giving term if he wants near that much.

I think I'd prefer to let Marner sit the entire season than give him a contract like that.
