Does this really make DET better going forward. I see you dumped most of Nielsen's cap but I don't think that contract is hindering the wings to the point we trade him and retain 1.75 for the duration. I also don't think we need to send Green off even tho he was on IR a lot, we have some young defenders that could really learn a lot from playing with green even if it is only part time.

Yeah it's not the worst contract in the world for sure but all signs are pointing to Veleno being ready by next season and he'd slot nicely into the 3C with Rasmussen on the wing with him. I doubt it happens but there's just a ton of bad contracts on this team.

I’m not even sure if this is even a serious AGM team or not. As far as Abdelkader, I would hold onto hope that Yzerman offers a pick and prospect to Seattle to take him.

I am excited for Veleno but i think there is no rush to put him into the NHL. i think some seasoning at a professional level in the AHL would help his development, we could potentially see him mid season. We don't want a replication of what happened with Rasmussen, his scenario was different not being AHL eligable but still.
