This.

And it's also more than a rumor. Both the Pens and the Wild beat writer have reported that this is a trade that has been on the table for a few days but Kessel has to waive his NMC/NTC in order for it to go through.

Dang I never saw this if that is the trade that's a huge win for the Wild

Eh, not really. Don't get me wrong, I love Kessel, but we should not be pursuing him. This team is in dire need of a rebuild and adding a 31 year old 90p winger doesn't help with that. It's bad for the Wild since we aren't going to magically become contenders with Kessel and it's bad for the Penguins since I think they are getting the raw end of the deal.

Also sounds like Kessel is unwilling to waive his NTC for Minnesota. There are 8-teams on his "YES" list, and the Wild aren't one of them.

I saw that tweet earlier, thanks for posting it here. I have a feeling it won't come to fruition, but then again Kessel is childhood friends with Ryan Suter, he's from Wisconsin, and he played for the Gophers so he definitely has ties here. It's kind of just a waiting game. I doubt the league wants to announce a big trade right before the cup, too, so it might be a few weeks before we know what will happen.

Bad move for the wild IMO. Should be building for the future,

Exactly. The apparent trade that isn't a trade yet is bad for the Wild since we need a rebuild and it's bad for Pittsburgh since Kessel should be worth more. Both sides lose IMO

Agreed, zucker should be moved for a 1st and a prospect. Rask could be kept or moved if there is a team willing to offer something for him.

Foligno is one of the best strength forwards for the 3rd or 4th line. He does not have the ballast to pay to be taken away.
