Why are you giving up so much for a full priced Nash, who has health concerns?

Good question, it's the idea that he is one season removed from a 42 goal season. Injury issues and contract do raise some concerns but the change of scenery, offensive production, and the Hurricanes lack of goal scorers make it an overall positive move.

Nash's last for seasons:
GP / G / P
44 / 21 / 42
65 / 26 / 39
79 / 42 / 69
60 / 15 / 36

He had one REALLY good season, the rest (partially due to injury) he's an average middle 6 wing. You could probably get 2 ~40 point wings for his salary. He'll be 32 when the season starts. That's why I think it's a huge overpay by the Canes.

I can definitely see what you are saying, but those two 40 pointers won't have the goal scoring potential and talent of Nash. If not Nash, I think they need a pure goal scorer. I think they will overpay for someone with a bad contract in hopes of a turnaround season. It will be an interesting summer for many teams with potential expansion on the horizon.

You're too close to the cap, Carolina is a budget team. Also, Aho is a safe bet for making the Canes next year, take Helm out.
