They can do it

Description
I really don't know if this all could happen, but I feel like this is the only way the Leafs will be able to field a competitive team next season. Let me explain every transaction.

- The Zaitsev trade is more likely than you'd think. Jake Dotchin isn't a great defensemen, but he can fulfill defensive roles a lot better than Zaitsev. The value Zaitsev has is blueline offence, which Anaheim can utilize more of. The draft pick is insurance if Dotchin sucks.
- The Hjalmarsson trade is the most unlikely thing to happen, but if anyone is going to trade for a potential second-line grinder that can score 30 goals and kill penalties, it's Arizona. With the draft pick swap, I think it's worth it for both teams.
- Edmonton doesn't have a lot of cap space, but they have enough to acquire a winger for whoever they decide Connor Brown will wingman. If Connor Brown is on the wing of Connor McDavid, I think he'll score 25-30 goals and would take a load off of McDavid, although not a significant role.
- In terms of Puljujarvi, he needs the medical staff that Tyler Ennis needed last offseason, and I think on a respectable but cheap contract, Puljujarvi will play one year in a rehab fourth line role, could learn to play centre, and revamp his career with another team in 2020-21.

Questions:
- Is Liljegren ready for Top 4 ice time?
- Would Babcock even play Petan, never mind on the third line?
- Why did you sign Marner to 11M? He's obviously going to sign for 9.95, douchebag.
- Why didn't you trade Nylander? He sucks.

All valid questions. To answer them, meh idk I'm not an actual GM.

I mean, a draft pick might make it better, but Puljujarvi scored 4 goals last year and he's injured. He needs out of the Oilers' organization asap

Because he's injured? And still a project? And has lost value? And stop rating him as the former 4th overall pick he is, because he hasn't been that since he was drafted.

All those explanations and trading.....and you're still short one or two players on the roster.

Dotchin could have claimed on waivers he hardly seems NHL material. And it certainly wouldn't help the cap situation with the Ducks. Puju is strictly AHL. Really think Petan is ready for 3rd line minutes?
