Crazy how realistic this is

Created by: AustonCashews
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2016

Description
The trades would require a bit of tinkering but I don't think they're too far off in terms of value. The following summer Bickell, Bernier, Laich, and Greening all come off the books with Lupul having just one year left pending he's not banished to Louville.

Not sure Pittsburgh does that trade one for one as they dont need Bozak for a 4th line center.

Crazy how every TO fan thinks Stamkos will sign there while he keeps maintaining TB. Then I look to Det and NYI before TO. He's not going to a rebuild team 5 years removed from a cup. That's just silly. TO sold every piece of experience and talent now they think Stamkos signs there to grind it out for the next 4 years till they become good. Not realistic at all

Pitts wouldn't be interested in adding another C.

Michalek you would need to retain 50%.

Obviously you are just trying to show what could happen. I think the PITT trade is very unlikely. Bozak for a 2nd round pick seems reasonable. Stammer and Vesey are big assumptions but I can see them coming where they belong!

The current Leafs management has worked so hard to free up cap space, you really wonder if the Stamkos signing would be a set back in the "plan". With potential young stars, Matthews, Nylander and Marner starting their NHL careers, IMO the Leafs will want to keep so open cap space available when these guys become "stars". And the way signings are going. Good players coming off their ELC are getting big money.

Regarding the trades....Bozak for Fleury might be a fair trade. But Fleury is still a # 1 goalie, and the Pens shouldn't be any rush to trade him, unless the deal is right. If Stamkos is not signed by the Leafs, Kadri and Bozak would be good centres to have as Matthews and Nylander start their NHL careers at centre.
Vesey still might come to the Leafs, if he wants to play with a rebuilding young team. The only way I see him coming to the Leafs, is if JVR is traded (which is quite possible). That would put Vesey into the mix as a # 1 LWer.
I like Stamkos going to the Isles scenario. Isles would have to move some money...Grabo and Kumulin would be possibilities. New ownership July 1st with the Isles...may want to splash in New York City (well Brooklyn).

Pokka is the Hawks best D prospect...with that said if the cap doesn't go up by the escalator...May need to happen.
