    Shatty is an American who it's been speculated to death that he doesn't want to play in the West. No way the Oil make that trade for a year of service with no guarantee.
    Also, love Shatty but he needs a top pairing dman and a strong partner to be successful. Oil don't have a true #1 so he would actually not be as useful here, especially for the $ it will take to keep him. Playing Shatty out of depth has not faired well, and on the Oil, it would happen alot

    I'd much rather have shattenkirk ever if it's only for another year than pay RNH 6m. Paying Statsny 7m is bad enough. Shattenkirk is my favorite blues player and he is far to good to give up however no matter what happens with him this off season and next season in general he will be signing for his hometown team next year in the Rangers.
