Description

Could this be a playoff team? Possible, though likely not.

Even adding Pierre-Luc Dubois at #5 wouldn't be enough to spark a sagging offense rife with too many overpaid underperformers. Dead money has been sunk into Burrows, Dorsett, Higgins and Sbisa, with Sutter and Gudbranson candidates to one day join the club.

The key is looking for upside here - where there are precious few guys capable or likely to exceed expectations/cap hits. Maybe Rodin is a real player... or maybe Virtanen can show some scoring touch... but the odds are long that the Canucks have enough upside to compete through the grind.
