Cap dump in 4 million from Frolik, journeyman Goalie and good prospect, for retention on both Howard and Kronwall and 20 goal scorer who is trending up and has term on contract and will be be RFA at end of current deal. Horrible trade for Detroit.

I could maybe see Howard to Calgary.
Kronwall wants to retire a Wing. He might retire this offseason but if he wants to hit a 1000 games he will retire after next season.
Detroit's not trading AA.

Frolík is a good winger but he is also 31 and he really has no place in the Wings rebuild.
Välimäki could be great player and the only player in the trade that has value for Detroit. I still wouldn't trade him for AA one for one.
Nilsson is looking like a career AHL player, 22yr and never played in a single NHL game. If he was coming Europe or College its no big deal but he has been in The AHL for 3yrs.
