I honestly cannot believe how awful that trade is for Ottawa. their top left winger and their proven #1 goalie for an okay goalie, a player that was acquired for a 6th round pick only a couple of months ago, and a second rounder. For Hoffman and Anderson, I'd expect Getzlaf coming back the other way at least, especially since you retained some salary on Anderson's already cheap and short contract.

.941, .911 .923, .916 save percentages the last 4 seasons. .972 save percentage last playoffs, and he is has a career .933 save percentage in the playoffs. All of this while being on a horrible defense team, with no structure whatsoever, facing the most shots against in the league. Anderson is better than Crawford, he is one of the best goalies in the NHL, and his contract makes him even more valuable. He is very underrated. And for you thinking the Sens suck, lets wait and see who wins or even plays more playoff games in the next 5 years between the Sens and the Hawks, which are on the decline.

Anderson of the Ducks is certainly going to get more than 3m a year.

There's something called a salary cap. IF the sens get Stamkos they would not be able to afford Hoffman let alone take on Getzlaf's salary. Frederik Andersen is 26 and 6'4", Craig Anderson is 35 and often hurt.
