so Detroit trades the #2 pick for probably 2 picks in the teens and a late 1st that makes sense

They would have five picks in the first two rounds rather than three and they cant take on any more contracts, so the more prospects they get the better with them being in the rebuilding stages

With the top two picks they could pick a generational player, like Matthews and Laine or McDavid and Eichel, why pass that up. Just not feasible.
