I think Dallas maybe does it? I think if you throw in another late pick they do it

I'd think not. Hudon wouldn't be a roster player in Dallas, while Janmark is. Also the jump in the draft isn't going to be too big, since this trade weakens our team.

Idk I find that the 2nd Round Pick may be as value as Janmark. He’s had a pretty rough year. Maybe if they take out the 3rd or something idk. Janmark + 5th for Hudson + 2nd?

Habs fans sure overvalue Hudon, if I was Dallas I'd never do that trade. Janmark looks like a good 3C type who averages around 30 points, those guys are valuable to have, runt wingers with 5 points like Hudon aren't.

The first two trades are perfect. Get positive assets for an overpaid 4th liner and then turn around and flip that overpaid fourth liner for an asset by retaining.

Montreal wouldn't drop draft picks to pick up something they don't need. At best Janmark would be on the 3rd line and he isn't needed.

Hudon wouldn't be a roster team in Dallas? Montreal has better depth than Dallas on offense, Dallas needs to do whatever they can to stop them from being a "1 line team"

Well, assuming that everyone's healthy (except Hanzal who's probably out for the rest of the season), I think Hudon would end up being healthy scratch

I'd put the lines like this
Benn / Seguin / Radulov
Cogliano / Faksa / Pitlick
Comeau / Spezza / Nichushkin
Hintz / Dickinson / Ritchie

Mtl will never trade a 2rd pick for Janmark lmao we do not need center anymore, even if he’s name Steven Stamkos

To be fair, Janmark doesn't play C. He has been winger this entire season

That’s pretty bad. We got Drouin-Domi-Shaw as a second line

You do realize Hudon had 30 points last year right? He can produce when he is given the opportunity to do so. Hudon is 3 years younger and is capable of putting up the same production. It doesn't matter anyways because Montreal would reject.

I know. Biggest issue of this team is that we are lacking secondary scoring. And Hudon's not really a solution to that problem, since we're losing the better player in this hypothetical move.

Hudon would be better than every winger on that team not Named Radulov or Benn. Especially on a offensive centered team. The only reason Hudon is a healthy scratch is because his defensive game isn't up to League standards, but I believe he has enough offense to be on any teams top 9.

Hudon put up 30 points last year, Hudon can provide secondary scoring.

So did Janmark. But both are struggling this season.

Except Hudon is 3 years younger and has a controllable contract, and Dallas is getting the better picks...

Dallas is pretty much top tier when it comes to defensive play - we are in the top5 in the goals against. But Hudon is not an upgrade from Janmark. Fantasize all you want, but as of now, I won't change that statement.

It's not like Janmark is going to be too expensive. I don't see him getting a raise after this season. As a 3rd line winger $2M is pretty fine.

And DAL should be getting the better picks, since we're hypothetically dealing the better player here.

I don't remember ever saying Hudon is the better player, I just said they are pretty close in terms of talent, except Dallas is getting the better pick. For a trade that doesn't benefit Montreal, they aren't going to downgrade their pick.

Hudon is worth a 5th because he has been a healthy scratch all season. We could've got much more value last year, but we kept him because he's in our future plans. If Bergevin wanted him gone, he would've traded him already.

It's not my post. I didn't suggest that in the first place. I only made a counteroffer suggestion.

Janmark would be on our 4th line on Montreal, why would Montreal trade away a 2nd round pick to get a 4th liner? Both teams reject... is that better?
