Initial Creation Date: Jan. 25, 2019

Description
Eberle odd man out or no? Another reason I let him walk was because you have to take into account Barzal's new contract next season as well as Pulock's.

Couple things: don't think they'll go an entire offseason without making a significant addition. They got worse: who replaces Eberle? (Please don't say JHS) Lehner got too many years - especially with Sorokin rumored to want to come over next year. Toews > Mayfield and Hickey. Wouldn't sit

That's one seriously expensive 4th line!

Love Anders Lee. Great contract if he signs for it, which I think is definitely fair value. Brock Nelson is a good one too. I can see them adding another winger for Barzal's last year of ELC, they have the cap for it.

Oh I agree that they will absolutely have to do something in the off season haha, I'm just not quite sure what they will do. I think JHS SHOULD be up next year but no, not on the first line where Eberle was. Also, good call, I forgot about Sorokin, I was just thinking about Soderstrom in the future.

I've been hoping the Isles stick to this thinking since the Lee talks started; the more years that Lee signs, the less money gets (and vice versa):
4 years/$28 mil ($7 mil per)
5 years/$32.5 mil ($6.5 mil per)
6 years/ $36 mil ($6 mil per)

In my opinion there's no way that I extend him for more than 6 years so that's off the table. His offensive production has gone down a bit. He's not exactly blazing passed defenders with his speed, and it is very much becoming a speed game. That all being said, if he wants the most money offered, he can get it for 4 years and move on from there. If he wants to meet in the middle for negotiations then he'll go with the 6x6 and help keep a balanced team together while still getting paid his fair share. My biggest fear is that Lee one day starts to become the player that Ladd has been the last few seasons, and we're already stuck paying him his money obviously.

Imo they should go big game hunting. Try to sign Panarin/Bobrobsky/Stone/Duchene and if that doesn’t work they should try for a high-end player with term.
