Russian Power?

Description
Rumors have it that Tikhonov and Plotnikov will come as a package from Russia (with love).

I think it is a long shot to get Oshie, but if we do I see Kunitz reuniting with Bylsma.

I really hope/pray that Scuderi and Lovejoy will be off of the roster at whatever cost. They are just clogging up openings for the youngsters.

I find this to be a viable option for the Pens. It fixes their needs to get younger and faster, while leaving plenty of depth and cap space remaining.

I think you will need more money from Cole, Franson and Soderberg. But thats a very strong team, especially if you pull off the Oshie deal.

Agreed. I've seen dumo and tiki getting more too. Not to say I'm not hopeful, but I'm not sure sundqvist or kap make the jump...yet. But maybe, hopefully, it would sure be nice. They may need more time. I'd really like a Franson signing, for a little insurance, he's big and plays well too. I think letting Murray play instead of being a backup would be better for him. I'd have zat backing up. All in all a good roster I'd be pretty happy with some semblance of this with some cap to boot

I'm also not so sure either Russian can be penciled into the top 6 yet

I am comparing Dumoulin to what we gave Depres when we resigned him. Which was around 900k and Depres had many more NHL games played than Dumoulin has. If we pay him more then shame on Rutherford. Although he was the idiot that traded Depres away for nothing anyway.

Regardless this lineup has the flexibility to swap players around to make it work. I think the Russians will come over and surprise us. Especially Plotnikov. As far as Murray/Zatkoff go, I can agree Murray needs to be playing, but Zatkoff is not very good. I for one hope they actually resign Greiss somehow.

I have more concern about Kapanen than I do Sundqvist. Bottom line wingers are cheap though. Rust/Farnham could easily play that role.
