1st Timmins and Jost for Drar to play second fiddle on his own line that its shown already that Drai cant produce when away from McDavid. So give up high value assets to play a guy in a secondary role that he has shown he cant produce, especially Centering his own line . He wont justify his cap hit at that position and he isnt going to break up one of the best lines in hockey.

Its a train wreck like I said. You dont know much about the Avs, so this makes no sense

You clearly don't know much about Edmonton, because Drai has proven he can center his own line and still produce. He isn't a point per game without playing with McDavid but that does not mean he "can't produce."

Actually its the opposite, look at his stats at what he does away from McDavid. you are correct its not like hes some scrub away from him, but I would hate to see the Avs pay multiple premium assets for a guy on the surface who's numbers are padded from his time with McDavid.

its the same argument that guys will say with Rantanen. So I get it, but Drai isnt a stud C by himself, good not elite away from McDavid. And at 8.5m a season to be second fiddle. You dont want to burn assets just for a good player

You make an interesting argument.

I disagree that Draisaitl can't produce on his own or center a line on his own line. He produced career best -numbers centering his own line, which is what led to his heavy contract extension. His production as a center has more to do with the lack of high end W's that EDM has on it's roster/had last season. Thus the reason why either Draisaitl and or RNH has to play on McDavid's line, when both of their natural positions are down the middle. With Soderberg's contract included in the trade and Wilson's and Varlamov's contract expiring after the season, there is a good amount of cap space to sign Rantanen and another possible premier winger that can add to some secondary scoring (maybe Eberle, considering they played together when Draisaitl put up career best numbers).

I know I won't change your mind, but just thought I'd throw it out there for you to think about.

you're just butt hurt over every Avs trade cause they're your favourite team. You overvalue everyone of your players. Draisaitl would be a massive upgrade at centre for Colorado. and prospects are just maybes. The fact that you get an elite centre (yes he can produce without McDavid) is a huge steal. Learn some hockey bro.

Thanks but no thanks, Draisaitl isn't what the Avs need in addition to Coga's comments. Whilst there might be obvious issues the Avs need more of an O'Reilly type D for the #2C slot.
