LA should be all about that, if they consider moving Quick, at all. It's a great offer.

I think that Rittich, Kylington, Foo, and Bennett might also get you Holtby, Kempny, Malenstyn, and Stephenson.... if you can dump Smith somewher for a backup, to make the cap work. Ott or Phi, maybe? Probably have to sweeten the Smith side a bit.

That gives Washington youth, skill, cap space, and a fourth young goalie to compete for their starting job. I'd rather just get Hanifin and Lazar for Holtby and Kempny, but Cgy fans still seem to value Hanifin by potential, rather than current usage, which is fine.

LA could get into a bidding war, or it could look at Washington with cap space as a chance to lower the price to drop Kovalchuk's 18.75M contract; Quick is much easier to move, and has done more for LA.

In fact, if LA takes Smith, and sends Kovalchuk to Washington, they save 7 or $8M. There's your cap dump. But Kovalchuk is still getting some retention.

It’s a decent offer, but would need more imo to send a goalie of Quick’s caliber to a division rival.
