If hawks could get Josi for that they'd be all over it. Drouin doesn't help the hawks at all.

Hawks can't afford to give Josi 8+ mill. Who do the Hawks have on LW?? Saad??

DeBrincat... Thanks for him by the way, that was a nice gift from Montreal.

I thought Kahun was LW and DeBrincat was RW? Or is it the other way around?

Other way around. You can check lines on a reliable site: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com

I actually use dailyfaceoff myself, I guess that was just me thinking that way due to their handiness.

It's your business why you got Debrincat and Saad both playing on their off-wing. In the end it makes more sense for CHI to have Drouin at 4.5 mill for 5 yrs, than Keith at 5.5 for 5 yrs.

You're welcome, doesn't mean MTL would of picked him anyway. Since we're at it, thanks for Danault I guess. He might not be Debrincat, but you guys practically gave him for free.

Keith isn't a cap dump quite yet, but at his age that contract will be an anchor for the last few years of it. Josi is Nashville's captain, and on one of the best value contracts in the league for the next two years. What possible motivation would they have for making this trade?

Money. He's gonna want to get paid. If I'm Poile I don't want to dishout 8-10 mill to a 30 yr old.

Even if Poile decides to move on from Josi (I think expansion draft complications would be the biggest factor in moving him), I'm certain he could do better than a bad contract and a 1st round pick in return. Especially considering Josi has this year and next at only $4 mil remaining.

Ya cap hit is amazing, but I'm also risking losing him to free agency. Negotiations start at what I'm offering, there could be conditions implemented wether he resigns with me or not.

Keith's contract is bad all the sudden?... Josi will want an 8 yr term at least 8 mill , so he'll be 38-39 when it expires. Not much difference, perhaps worse. 2019 is a deep draft and with the probabilty of CHI not making the playoffs, it could be a top 10 pick.
