Yeah, yeah, I know. Save the hate. This is more a fantasy trade than most.

I got a strong strong case of the covets after watching a few Sens games. Realistically there's no way this will ever happen but it would solve the Habs' issues. Plus it would move Bobby Ryan's deal and give the Sens that first round draft pick they want this year. Kulak's an NHL ready defenceman and Ryan Poehling is likely to be the 2C of Team USA at the next WJs.

More realistically, I do think the Habs should be open to trading their first round pick this year for an already drafted and halfway established LHD - if they have the brains, speed and shot needed to play with Weber and make PP2 a little more respectable.

Sens aren’t moving Chabot. Even for the overpay. Poehling won’t sign with them either.

With Poehling that's a real risk. And like I said, this is more unrealistic than most. But hey, if this summer proved anything, sometimes the Sens like quantity over quality when they do trades.

Wonder if Suzuki for Chabot would be more appealing?

as much as I like Chabot I would not do that trade, a lot to give up and take Ryan...no thanks
