I think if that's what it would take to get Nylander signed for 8 years, the Leafs would already have the deal done. Nylander at that price is better than Timmins and Jost.

You said nylander at 7.5 mill for 8 years is worth more than Jost and timmins... I said that he is most definately not

I was speaking more about the contract. Neither one of those players are as good as Nylander alone. And at that contract, I'd say he's a bargain and therefore why trade a player of Nylander's calibre for two guys who just aren't as good.

Just so we understand each other I'm not saying in any way I personally want nylander on the avs... secondly if nylander was worth 7.5 million he'd have be signed by now. Dubas has consistently said he wants nylander to be a leaf for the forseable future, the fact is nylander isnt worth that much money, I'd say hes worth between 5.5-6.5 tops... jost has had 1 year In the NHL and looks like this year he'll be centering the second line, he has great potential, timmins was expected to make the team this year if It hadn't been for his concussion, I'd so much rather have 2 guys that cost under 2 mill in cap space than nylander who has over priced himself

5.5 million, so he's worse than Elhers? (Nylander has a higher points per game in his career than Elhers who has a 6x6 deal. ) Prior to last season, Nylander also was a head of Pastrnak in production and he is signed for 6.6 million. Tom Wilson makes 5 million, is Nylander about par with him? You are not at all up to speed on contracts these days are you?

The wilson contract was abysmal but aside from that, I do believe nylander is worse than ehlers, and definately worse than pasternak... thing is the guy is an average 2nd line player, he most like wouldnt have the stat line that he does have if he played with anyone but Mathews.. your obviously a toronto fan and an avs fan living In toronto I have to see them play alot, nylander is nothing special but hes demanding money like hes a 30-40 goal guy who gets 80+ points a year, 7.5 is a good deal for marner hows puck possession and skill are much better... look around the league at who makes 7.5 or higher and then look at what they've done
