OTT laughs and hangs up on COL, even with OTT first thats is a rip off that i think even the NHL would refuse to allow and COL would not be able to keep anyone as they would be over the cap and soderberg has NTC/NMC and would not waive for OTT.

Not much of a return for one of the top 3 D men since Bobby Orr and a point per game RW who leads the NHL in takeaways.

I dont think Philly should do it either but to call Varly a b goalie is under valuing him. His issues are injuries, but his talent cant be denied. He is a top 15 goalie in this league and a well above average starter. To say he is a B goalie feels like you are trying to sell him low for the sake of your argument of denying the trade.

Top 3 Dman since Orr? Wow stretch much to have him above three of Lindstrom, Bourque, Denis Potvin, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger just as a starter..Karlsson is an amazing talent but to say he is above some of those guys...I dunno man. And a PPG RW? He is career 249pts in 307 games?

Actually COL is one of the only teams who could afford to do this.
Value-wise, acquiring your first back, a 2nd, a great offensive D-men, two decent prospects and a decent C are pretty much the things you could get. You ain't getting more, so, enjoy watching those stars walk after this season...

Varlamov is better than B-tier, and you don't really need Stolarz imo. You guys have a load of goalies.

Hockey, like all sports, is a "what have you done for me lately" thing. Last season, at 25 years old, Stone had 62 points in 58 games on a team that was struggling horrifically and that was with a drop in his S%. As for Karlsson, I'm no homer, it is widely accepted by hockey minds that he is one of the best to ever play the game. And listing Pronger in the conversation is laughable.

Soderberg is boyout candidate for next year, he not that good, the prospects and not even top 10 for COL, better to let EK and Stone walk for nothing than to make a horrendous trade.

You made the claim he was a point per game winger....which is in fact wrong, he was a ppg winger last season. Those are 2 different claims. Same as your take away leader...he wasnt the takea way leader last year, he was the yearse before....so what is it...you can take his one season ppg claim to prop him up and other take away stats and combine it into one? Just a little consistency

Pronger is the last Dman to win the Hart since...you guessed it Bobby Orr. To say its laughable then you are just over looking simple facts. I never said he wasnt a special player, just saying hes in the conversation bc there are a handful of guys who are what I would consider one of kind Dman in Bourque, Niedermayer, and Lindstrom. So the claim of saying Top 3 since Orr...I mean how can you take one of those guys out of that claim.

I'll reword it for you: Stone was a PPG player last season, is the NHL leader n takeaways over the last 3 seasons,.and he's only 26.
As for Karlsson, we'll have to agree to disagree, but I firmly believe, after Bobby Orr, almost every GM would have Karlsson in their top 3 if they were building a fantasy team.
Either way, my point remains, this is a horrible return for Stone and Karlsson if they're both signing extensions.

Wasnt never trying to justify that it was great trade for the Sens. Just your comments are over inflating the Sens players in an effort to try to make the trade look even worse. Both are fantastic players and will get a nice haul if they are moved. Karlsson is a special player but to say he is better of one of Bourque, Niedermayer, and Lindstrom you know you will get some backlash on that claim

But the Sens are in a really bad spot with all their pending UFAs. Bc of all the uncertainty around everything (owner, payroll rumours, Karlsson rift, coaching, etc) there is a lot of pressure for the team to be half ass competitive out of the gate bc if the wheels come off early, they could be in a world of hurt when it comes to selling guys off.

I still do not know why they kept onto the 4th overall, they have this dark media cloud of "Jack Hughes lottery pick" hanging over them all season long. Why would they add another factor in an already distraction filled season

No denying that Ottawa is a hot mess right not but Ottawa finished 2nd last this past season but ended up picking 4th. I am willing to bet they finish HIGHER this season which means the odds of the 1st overall would be even less likely. Clearly the organization feels the same way. You're entitled to your opinion on where Karlsson places in terms of "best D men", and I'm entitled to mine.

Fair enough. Dont get me wrong, I think Karlsson is a special talent that we have been lucky to watch in our lifetime....right now IMO he hasnt dethroned any of them yet, but by the time his career is done, we might have to rethink those rankings compared to those 3
