NYR deal is preety fair atm but lucics contract is so bad that a 2nd is a must to be added as he will be a cap hit for 5 years otherwise i think nyr would take it.

This is all a fair attempt at improving the team and I think your trades are on the right track to being fair. That being said, you still only have 2 lines that are good enough to compete in the NHL. Play a team like Toronto and one of Tavares or Matthews will be playing a lot of minutes against your 3rd and 4th lines. And those lines are going to get destroyed by top competition.

Edmonton needs to draft 4-6 players that will be above average depth guys, otherwise the same issue you had last season will still be there. McDavid will dominate 20 some minutes a night, Draisaitl will generally be better than his opposition, or at least on par, but the bottom lines will get wrecked. If Talbot plays insane hockey you'll make the playoffs, if he's average NHL goaltending you miss the playoffs.

Gotta retain on Sekera for that deal to go through. (or take back a contract.)
