Not a chance I take that deal as Ottawa. Stone is their best all around forward, and if Karlsson leaves, their captain. No way I give him up for a #3 defenceman who would likely leave after 2 years. I'd rather pay Stone the money and keep him long term.

Strong chance Stone would become the best forward in Carolina and that's not a great trade or Ottawa at all.

Aho, Svechnikov > Stone. Faulk is a top pairing D man. Ottawa will need him when Karlsson leaves

Stone had over a pt per game this past season and is an excellent 2 way forward. Svechnikov hasn't even played a game yet.

Stone had a career year. Svechnikov had 40 goals in 44 games. If he replicates half of that at the NHL level he’s better then stone

I do think Faulk is very underrated, but he's not going to get you Stone.

There's no guarantee that he will (well he probably will but he won't be better than Stone in his first year), for the time being Aho is the only player that is on the same level as Stone, plus Stone brings very good defensive skills, and leadership.

Aho is better defensively and is a locker room leader. Aho is also younger and has a higher ceiling.

Yes I agree, Aho will most likely better than Stone in a year or 2 but for the time being they're almost equal in terms of points and Stone is definitely better defensively right now.

Aho is better in his own zone then almost anyone in the league not named Bergeron. He’s definitely better then Stone

@Stoner61 good organizations don’t let their ‘best player’ make it to Arbitration. Surprised they haven’t locked him up yet. Maybe he doesn’t want to sign long term in Ottawa?

What does this have to do with anything? What player in the right mind would wanna sign long-term in Ottawa right now, the place is a **** show, nothing close to a "good organization".

Just figured you be able to provide some insight - figured with your username and photo that I might be talking directly with Mark Stone himself

Lol nah I wish, but yeah Stone will most likely drag along negotiations and become a UFA either this year or next.

I don’t know what I’m talking about? Clearly cause I said most. Stone is only good in one end. If you watched hockey you’d know that

There's no point of arguing with you anymore lmao, Stone is only good in one end??? He only led the league in takeaways for like 3 years straight nothing much ya know. Good Bye.

Alright man, I’m probably the highest person on the Canes that isn’t a Canes fan, but in no way shape or form is Aho better than Mark Stone, nor Couterier, nor Kopitar, nor Captain Overrated Toews. Aho is going to be good, but he isn’t that good already. Mark Stone was over a point per game with injury and only had 3 less points than Aho. He’s an elite two way forward. Aho’s got room to grow, Andrei will be a stud and maybe of these 2 he’s better than Stone, but he won’t be as a rookie. Man you gotta rethink this stuff.

Aho is better. He for some reason can’t score in the month of October but you take that out to even the games played and Aho was better. Aho isalos better at forechecking and taking the puck away, and has carried a franchise for 2 years. Tell me when stone takes over.

Buddy Aho hasn’t carried anything ? Stone carried the the Sens to the playoffs with Hoffman and EK65, you clearly don’t watch hockey, and if you do, you definitely don’t watch the Senators. Mark Stone is elite, Aho isn’t period.

Aho is defo elite lol ????. He’s better in both ends. Better passer and a better all round player. Stone didn’t carry the send to the playoffs Karlsson did on one leg. I watch any game I can.

This chain has gone from Faulk for Stone to Aho vs Stone...not sure why.

Needless to say - I originally put in the trade not sure which side needed to add, so sounds like CAR needs to add. Either way...I’ll let you boys worry about the rest.
