That's outrageous. This shows your opinion is skewed and biased. And I'm not thirsty, just curious. Sorry I tried to start conversation

If you watch him play, you would know that Hoffman is far more superior to Kane.

Lol it's embarrassing that you guys think that Karlsson is worth nothing. Karlsson will never get traded from Ottawa. The only way it would happen is if a trade like the one posted on this page is proposed, and that would NEVER happen, so I really don't know what you guys find so embarrassing.

I don't know what's funnier, you thinking we somehow think/said Karlsson is worth nothing (which no one here thinks) or the fact that YOU don't think the trade proposed is soooo lopsided in favor of Ottawa that your not actually endorsing it?

Karlsson is an amazing player but offer me Eichel, O'Reilly at 3m retained, Reinhart, Ristolainen and this years 1st rounder which has a chance to be Matthews and I'd trade you any 1 player in the league. Crosby, Ovechkin, Kane, Price etc. any day of the week. Hell I'd even trade McDavid for that deal.

Erik Karlsson will never get traded, and the traded listed above will never be proposed, but the only way he does ever get traded, is if a team is desperate enough and decides to propose that deal.

we all agree that a Karlsson trade is highly unlikely, just kind of alarming your owner said nobody is untouchable. IF Buffalo went to Ottawa and said well give you a one for one in Eichel for Karlsson, Ottawa would take that

I actually agree with you but seeing as you created this trade, the reason for the "embarrassment" is that this trade would net you more than just Karlsson as i mentioned above. It would get you any player in the league and probably then some. In true honesty, Ottawa would be insane not to consider this trade offer even if you take out one of the 1st rounder or O'Reilly or Reinhart. Eichel is a generational talent, Reinhart will be a very good top 6, O'Reilly is one of the better 2 way centerman in the league and getting him 3m less is amazing, Ristolainen is already a top pairing defenceman, the 1st rounder could end up being Matthews or at worst a top forward prospect like Tkachuk/Dubois/Nylander or a top defence prospect in Juolevi/Chychrun. Remove any one part of this proposal except Eichel and any smart Gm would see that is a trade you have to make.

So ultimately what it comes down to is yes, Karlsson won't be traded because he's too valuable to Ottawa but if you think that the trade proposed is what would be considered fair value than you would be wrong. Any GM in the league would do that trade for even less. No matter how valuable any one player is to one team.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Not sure we can say definitively "they'd do that" if offered even Eichel. Karlsson is a very special player in his own right. Even though its all but certain Eichel will be a superstar in the league, he still has to prove he can be before he can be labeled one. There's no denying Karlsson is a superstar.

Technically right now yes. In 5 years time? I don't think so. Comes down to "when" is more important?

And in three years when Karlsson walks as a UFA, what is worth to Ottawa then?

Very true. Even if he's signed, will he be worth 10M+ for 7 years when he's already pushing 30 years old at that time?

it's funny cause he won't even be 30 at the time, this guy is so talented, so young, he will play with the sens even after they build their new arena, and Ottawa will sign him even if they have to get rid of other players to keep him

I mean if Buffalo wanted Karlsson, Eichel would be the price. Similarly to if Edmonton wanted Karlsson, McDavid would be the price

Hey Zbaddest, I think these guys are right but I don't think they are explaining it correctly to you so I will help you understand. Oreilly was traded from Colorado for Zadorov (1st round Pick), Grigorenko (1st round pick), Jt Compher (High 2nd round pick) and a 2nd round pick. Also Reinhart, Eichel, and Ristolainen are 1st round picks. If you add them all up that is five 1st rounders, plus the 2017 1st that you traded, the 2nd from Oreilly and the 2nd from JT Compher. So six 1st rounders and two 2nd rounders is what buffalo would be giving up for Karlsson. That is Ludacris my friend and nothing but, nobody is worth that period.
