I would rather give 7M to Neal than giving it to Patch. Neal brings that energy to a line

I would think RNH and Pacioretty would have near equal value after last season.
So then Juulsen for Nurse? That's a huge stretch.
Neal is probably a step down from Pacioretty as well.

damn, you are quick with the one star my friend,

One bad season out of the last 6... and RHN one good season out of the last 4... he scores 24 this year... and he is better than a 5 time 30+ goal scorer in his last 5 season (excluding this season and the lockout)

Sure Nurse is better than Juulsen... but he is 3 years older. Juulsen did great in his first half season with a dumpster fire team. Also, Nurse is looking for more $$ this season... money that EDM will have difficulty to spare in the following years. SURE, picks could be added, maybe a depth player. But the trade, in my opinion, is more than fair

Max roster size is 23, you would need to cut one player.

One good season out of the last 4 and you want him as your number one center....?

Something to remember regarding RNH vs Patches: ones a center. There is more positional value in a 25 year old #2C than a nigh 30 year old #1LW on an expiring deal. To me, those factors balance Nuge and Pacioretty rather well, and at most you've got a 3rd round pick going back either way (depending on who you ask).

The difference in age between Juulsen and Nurse is barely significant: you're talking about a 3 year difference when neither player is close to their prime. Nurse's establishment in the league combined with his RFA status (the team could easily bridge him under $3M this offseason btw) outweigh Juulsen's handedness and cost-effective ELC.

All signs point to Edmonton wanting to hang onto both of these players: RNH showed very well alongside McDavid in the back quarter of the season and at the WCs this summer. Nurse has been identified as a core piece by Chiarelli (Hall/Eberle weren't FWIW). You are going to have to pay through the nose to acquire these players strictly because Edmonton has no business moving them right now. They have a piece - admittedly less proven as a #1LW than Pacioretty - to fill the scoring spot and Bouchard falling to the Oilers invalidates any reason to acquire Juulsen. Evan has a much, much higher ceiling than Noah, and is probably close to his skillset right now even having not played a professional game.

In terms of value, you're close but shy by at least a 3rd going back to Edmonton. RNH and Patches, as explained above, are reasonably close in value. Nurse and Juulsen are not. If I was Oilers GM, I'd want at least a 3rd and our 5th back. A 2nd would suffice if you were more concerned about pick quantity than quality.

Here are my adjustments.
Edt trade stays, I think it's completely fair.
You're about 500k and 1 year too much on the Danault resigning. Remember in 3 years, Poehling or Kotkaniemi is in there.
Move Drouin to left again.
Offer a protected 1st, a 2nd, Lekhs or Hudon, and McCarron to Buffalo for O'Reilly and a 2nd.
Forget Neal, too much don't need another LW.
Keep the Pleky signing.
Lines
Drouin, O'Reilly, Gallagher
Domi, RNH, Scherbak
Hudon/Leks, Danault, Byron
Deslauries,Pleks, JDL (or whoever)

Nurse, Weber
Alzner, Petry
Mete, Benn

Shaw on LTIR to start the season
Froese captains Laval
Sign Rachel
If there is a way, sign DeHaan?

Well I like it patches is better than RNH and Nurse might be better than Juulson but plays ld and Juulson plays RD and Patches is a lgit fast scoring winger for McDavid. But remember mtl fans if we do this patches might get 50 goals with mcdavid so RNH better be good
